Galle Itineraries: 2, 4 and 6 Days Done Well

Day one: arrive, settle inside or beside the Fort, walk the full rampart circuit at golden hour, dinner in the lamplit lanes. Day two: dawn on the quiet walls, then Unawatuna for a swim and lunch on the sand, back for the Fort's museums and a final sunset from the lighthouse corner.

Keep the first two days, then: day three, morning whale boat from Mirissa in season, recovery swim at Dalawella with the turtles and the palm swing toward evening. Day four, Koggala Lake boat among the islands and cinnamon gardens, stilt-fishermen coast at dusk, dinner in Ahangama's café scene.

A six-day stay splits naturally: two or three nights of Fort life, then a move to the sand at Thalpe or Unawatuna for slow beach mornings, a Hikkaduwa day for the coral sanctuary and its turtles, a Jungle Beach and Peace Pagoda walk, and one unplanned day, which around Galle always fills itself.

Book whale boats a day ahead in season and take the morning departures for calmer seas. Do the ramparts twice, sunset and dawn, because they are two different places. And build the split stay if you can: the Fort-then-beach sequence is the classic Galle trip for a reason.
